Shopping and Dining

Avon lies equally on each side of US 36, commonly known as Rockville Road. As the town has grown, so have the amenities.  The center of town offers all the well known shopping facilities, including Target, WalMart, Best Buy and Office Depot. The growth hasn’t replaced the established community facilities though. You’ll find the Farmers Market open most of the year offering the finest in fruits, vegetables and plants; as well as the local butcher shop and many locally owned businesses. It’s a fine mix of old and new.

You won’t have to go far to enjoy a great meal out either. Whether fast food or sit down dinner, you can dine out close to home or grab a fast meal on the way. There’s always free WiFi at Panera’s – for the times you need a change of scenery for business – you may even find me there with a client.

Parks and Recreation

Avon has two wonderful parks; Avon Town Hall Park is located behind the Town Hall (surprise). With two play areas a pond, walking path and green areas, it’s perfect for a day out with the family or an afternoon break.

Washinton Township Community Park runs along side a creek with nature trails and bridges to explore. A large playground, basketball courts, and covered picnic shelters, you can plan a full days activities or family reunion.

Avon Schools

Avon schools consistently rank high in test scores. If your child begins school in Avon and graduates, they will attend four schools. Elementary schools serve grades K-4th, Intermediate schools serve the 5th-6th grade and Middle Schools serve 7th-8th grade, and High School  – grades 9-12. Avon will open it’s 2nd Middle School with the 2009-2010 school year.
